Mechanical Superintendent
About the role
Loenbro is seeking to hire an experienced Mechanical Superintendent. This position will be responsible for planning, scheduling, employee oversight, and management of industrial mechanical construction projects up to $10M in value. Assists Project Manager in coordinating activities of employees engaged in construction process, utilizing knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications. Must be able to pass pre-employment and on-going drug/alcohol testing.
Responsibilities
- Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman. Ensure that critical activities and decisions remain on schedule for the project management team.
- Oversee field specific activities for industrial construction projects from setup to closeout related to the industries that Industrial Construction serves energy, power, mining, manufacturing, pharma, etc.
- Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule, and provide to the project management team.
- Respond to subcontractor requests for field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule.
- Supervise the daily work of employees.
- Verify conformance of finished work product, including overseeing compliance with all contract requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction of industrial & Commercial projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing mechanical craft trades.
- Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
- Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Work experience with USACE / Federal contracts (preferred).
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing program (preferred).
- Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software (preferred).
- Experience with Viewpoint or similar account software (preferred).
- Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software (preferred).
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office products (preferred).
- Completion of OSHA or equivalent safety training (preferred).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment.
- Fitting and moving in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.
- Limited working surfaces.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
Essential Requirements
- Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
- Standing.
- Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Driving if required to travel.
