About the role

As a Mechanical Superintendent, you will plan, schedule, oversee employees, and manage industrial mechanical construction projects valued up to $10M. You will assist the Project Manager in coordinating construction activities, ensuring adherence to equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications. This role requires passing pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman to ensure critical activities and decisions remain on schedule.
  • Oversee field-specific activities for industrial construction projects from setup to closeout across industries such as energy, power, mining, manufacturing, and pharma.
  • Document project field issues impacting budget, quality, or schedule and communicate them to the project management team.
  • Respond to subcontractor requests regarding field issues that affect budget, quality, or schedule.
  • Supervise daily work of employees and verify conformance of finished work product, including compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Enforce company safety and work rules, ensuring all employees receive proper training for their tasks.
  • Assign work, monitor job costs, and provide monthly forecasting.
  • Complete written reports on job progress, costs, and other requested matters.
  • Support on-the-job training for team members to ensure safety and quality.
  • Monitor job sites for safety and quality of work.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to create new opportunities for Loenbro.
  • Review and provide feedback on project schedules, working with the Project Engineer to update and distribute them.
  • Produce cost-based estimates for RFPs.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial and commercial construction projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing mechanical craft trades.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing software.
  • Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Experience with Viewpoint or similar accounting software.
  • Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Completion of OSHA or equivalent safety training.
  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Potential Hazards

  • Outside work most of the time, with exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
  • Mining environment with limited working surfaces.
  • Fit and move in confined spaces, including tanks and vessels.
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to access trenches and elevated platforms (e.g., scaffolding at significant heights).
  • Lifting equipment and materials weighing 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly.
  • Walking on uneven terrain, averaging two miles per day.
  • Standing, sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling as required.
  • Use of a respirator if the position requires it.
  • Driving, if required for travel (valid driver’s license and proof of insurability required).

Pay

Colorado Pay Range: $45 USD - $60 USD per hour.
