Mechanical Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage the design of projects with Mechanical Construction Value(s) up to $10 MM.
• Assigns tasks to and coordinates with entry/staff engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
• Determines technical, schedule and budget (staffing/manhours) requirements.
• Interface and coordinate with architects and other disciplines.
• Perform basic code reviews.
• Attend meetings, prepare meeting minutes, conduct site visits and field inspections of mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Prepare mechanical and HVAC engineering analysis, calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications.
• Serve as Project Manager on small projects.

  Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • NYS Professional Engineering License.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with MEP projects, especially mechanical and HVAC system design.
  • Experience designing mechanical and HVAC systems and producing design documents for buildings in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs (WORD, Excel, etc.).
  • Good communications skills – Oral and written.
  • Experience in running HVAC loads and energy modeling with Trane Trace 3D Software preferred.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active professional with drive and determination.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
