Principal Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
  • Prepare and coordinate design documents (drawings, specifications, and supporting calculations) in alignment with project requirements and applicable codes
  • Select and evaluate equipment and system solutions appropriate to the project scope and performance goals
  • Coverage with internal disciplines and external partners to support integrated project delivery
  • Communicate with clients and project stakeholders to support requirements gathering, design development, and issue resolution
  • Support project planning activities such as budgeting, scheduling, and work planning to help meet project deliverables
  • Perform quality control checks and support review/coordination of documents prior to issue
  • Provide construction administration support, including responses to RFIs/submittals and incorporation of design revisions
  • Conduct site observations as required and document field findings and follow-up actions
  • Aid in mentoring/training and day-to-day technical support for project team members, as applicable

Required Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5–6 years of experience; OR an associate degree and/or BIM certificate with 9–10 years of experience
  • Technical analysis capability and strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with design software and BIM workflows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and project teams
  • Ability to mentor/support others as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
