Mechanical Process Engineer

About the role

Your primary responsibility will be to analyze production processes to identify and eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). You will provide hands-on technical support to production and maintenance teams to resolve daily production issues and implement robust corrective actions. The role involves a blend of time spent in the office as well as on the production floor.

  • Develop manufacturing routings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for new and existing products
  • Analyze production data and prepare reports on process performance metrics
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for the installation and startup of new equipment
  • Lead productivity improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Work on the production floor, familiarizing yourself with processes and new equipment installation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or other related Engineering or Engineering Technology field required
  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial process environment required
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks/projects in a demanding environment
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical and data-driven process improvement, troubleshooting, and applying engineering principles on the plant floor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, statistical analytical software (Minitab), and AutoCAD
  • Experience managing mid-size capital projects from design through execution
