Mechanical/Plumbing Detailer

About the role

MIINC Mechanical Contractors seeks a Mechanical/Plumbing Detailer to support the detailing, modeling, and coordination of project work. This role is responsible for generating comprehensive installation and project documentation, coordinating 3D models and drawings, ensuring designs meet codes, collaborating with stakeholders, and maintaining organized records of design changes.

Responsibilities

• Generate comprehensive installation and project documentation, including shop and detail drawings, equipment/material schedules, spool sheets, bills of materials, as-built drawings, quantity/description listings etc.
• Maintain organized records of design changes and correspondence.
• Revise drawings and documentation based on project feedback.
• Monitor industry trends, codes, and technologies related to mechanical & plumbing systems.
• Create coordinated 3D models and drawings for plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and field personnel for effective system integration.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and assess existing conditions.
• Participate in project meetings to communicate design intent and ensure stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience as a Detailer, Draftsperson, Annotator or related role in mechanical or plumbing design.
• Field experience in mechanical & plumbing systems (preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoDesk software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
• Strong understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems, applicable codes, and construction best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
