About the role
The Mechanical Planner is responsible for planning maintenance and reliability programs for the asset, utilizing SAP and S4 Hana. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of planning for packaged equipment and rotating machinery, including steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, generators, motors, and their associated auxiliary systems.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain project and outage plans utilizing planning software.
- Plan and prioritize work for fast and efficient response, effective backlog maintenance, and cost control.
- Create job packs, including all relevant information for job plans.
- Coordinate the development of work orders and schedules with Operations and Maintenance personnel.
- Develop and complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and look-ahead schedules for expense and upgrade work by working closely with functional supervisors, engineering, and technicians.
- Manage the dispatching of work and availability of manpower in coordination with supervision.
- Provide technical support for personnel within the CMMS modules.
- Ensure proper documentation for work orders is in place.
- Identify material requirements and interface with vendor and/or supply chain as needed.
- Assist with development of KPIs and produce reports on schedule compliance, with emphasis in maintenance/inspection regulatory compliance, including analysis of deviations, variations, and trends with graphical representations.
- Request changes to procedures as required.
- Assist in the writing of procedures as required.
- Recommend and implement training to enhance effectiveness of work activities.
- Assist on budget development as required.
- Perform additional or other duties as assigned by supervision to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree or similar is a plus.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience utilizing SAP in Oil and Gas or petrochemical facilities.
- Heavy working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Planning, Scheduling, and Execution processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Scheduling software definition and build experience is a plus; Prometheus experience is preferred.
- Experience with project planning software such as MS Project or Primavera P6 is a plus.
- Experience with scaffolding, painting, insulating, heavy equipment operation-rigging/lifting crafts, welding, fabrication, and machining work estimation and planning.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working in a PHMSA-regulated Pipeline facility preferred.
- Experience with gas compression and metering equipment preferred.
- Ability to prioritize work activities accordingly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create a strong team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high levels of customer service, confidentiality, and ethical behavior.
- Self-starter with ability to work strategically under little direction.
- Strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Maintain or ability to maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
- State-issued, current, and valid Driver’s License.
