About the Role

This position reports to the Site Chief Engineer and is dedicated to the New Albany, Ohio campus, with an expectation of daily onsite presence. The Mechanical Operations Engineer will support the local site team on multiple technical duties related to data center critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of critical infrastructure and building mechanical systems, including CRAHs, CRACs, chillers, humidification/de-humidification systems, RTUs, CDUs, and water purification systems
  • Operate and support additional critical infrastructure such as MV switchboards, transformers, generators, ATS/STS, UPS, PDUs, and RPPs
  • Identify and resolve issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and remediation processes
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance, corrective activities, and customer requests
  • Perform system analysis and reporting
  • Complete self-performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities in accordance with ECX standards
  • Execute Method of Procedures (MOPs)
  • Supervise on-site subcontractors
  • Support the regional team in customer reporting and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Ensure consistent and accurate updates to tickets, work orders, and associated communications

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing data center mechanical infrastructure (CRAH, CRAC, chillers, etc.)
  • Foundation in operating data center electrical equipment (transformers, generators, UPS, etc.)
  • Strong, demonstrated interest in mission-critical infrastructure and AI technology
  • Experience and comfort in a high-demand 24x7 environment
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal
  • Candidates with experience in hyperscale data centers or construction industry environments are strongly encouraged to apply

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for leading teams and coordinating with peers
  • Detailed knowledge of critical infrastructure systems (CRAHs, CRACs, chillers, humidification/de-humidification, RTUs, CDUs, water purification)
  • Ability to read and assess single-line diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering plans
  • Extensive experience carrying out MOPs, EOPs, and SOPs
  • Commitment to organizational excellence and process improvement
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities while meeting committed timelines
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across disciplines to achieve goals
  • High attention to detail
