Responsibilities
- Perform all mechanical preventive maintenance tasks on Utility and Water Treatment equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Conduct routine inspections and operational checks for systems including PCW, CHW, CW, CDA, HVAC, Exhaust Blowers, Cooling Towers, and other critical mechanical utilities.
- Respond promptly to equipment alarms, system malfunctions, and emergency conditions to minimize downtime and maintain facility safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components such as pumps, valves, filters, gauges, fittings, motors, blowers, and associated piping systems.
- Assist Utilities and Water Treatment Technicians with routes, monitoring tasks, HMI system operation, and equipment performance checks as needed.
- Operate, interpret, and respond to HMI system controls, alarms, system flow paths, and instrumentation feedback.
- Maintain accurate operating logs, PM records, repair documentation, and system status updates.
- Support chemical loading/unloading, waste removal activities, and ensure compliance with facility safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and utility spaces in alignment with 5S standards.
- Identify improvement opportunities to enhance reliability, reduce downtime, and increase equipment efficiency.
- Coordinate with leadership on planned shutdowns, equipment repairs, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, responding to facility emergencies involving utilities or infrastructure when required.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Strong general mechanical knowledge base with the ability to perform PMs, troubleshooting, and repairs on Utility & Water Treatment systems.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, pipefitting fundamentals, gauges, and common industrial mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, I&C diagrams, blueprints, and piping flow paths.
- Experience operating HMI systems, including understanding alarms, controls, and system flow paths.
- Basic computer proficiency with MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pass a basic mechanical aptitude assessment during the interview process.
- Ability to meet the physical demands required to perform mechanical maintenance tasks, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in non–climate-controlled environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing, facility utilities, or industrial environments.
- Experience working with HVAC systems, cooling towers, CDA systems, and industrial process water systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical shutdown planning, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
- Experience supporting a large-scale industrial Utilities or Facilities Team.
