Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician provides mechanical support for maintenance, engineering, and production. Support includes troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of plant assets, focusing on safe, reliable, and cost-effective production in a lean manufacturing environment. The role involves design, modification, adaptation, installation, problem solving, and troubleshooting on various equipment in conjunction with electrical personnel. The technician will direct and perform maintenance tasks safely and efficiently, assist other production team employees with specific equipment and processes, and handle other duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, start up, commission, and maintain plant assets.
• Provide mechanical support for design, modification, adaptation, and installation of equipment.
• Collaborate with electrical personnel on problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Perform maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
• Assist production team employees with equipment and process-related questions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and P&IDs.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems and lubrication systems.
• Apply basic welding and pipefitting expertise.
• Contribute to project teams or sub-teams with technical expertise.
• Control costs related to own work and assist in broader financial management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate (AS) degree in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance or relevant field, or equivalent years of education and experience, preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated precision maintenance skills for rotating machinery installation and maintenance.
• Experience with hydraulic system maintenance and repair or similar lubrication systems.
• Basic welding and pipefitting skills.
