About the role
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant IV position is available in Sanford, NC. The typical work schedule is 1st shift from 6AM to 2:30PM, with potential weekend hours to support a 24/7 operation. The role involves responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Responds to work orders and provides service to customers while ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Troubleshoots and repairs Fanuc Robots, VFD’s, pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, gearboxes, hoist, air handlers, and other equipment as required.
- Performs pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and related work on production equipment and systems.
- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, alignments, etc.
- Utilizes meggers, voltmeters, multi-meters, and other tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Performs plumbing and hydraulic hose repairs.
- Trains and supervises less experienced staff members.
- Responds to and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and enforces safety regulations.
- Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of experience as an electrical and/or mechanical maintenance technician troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and systems in an industrial setting.
- A valid Driver’s License.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or trade school certification in Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Technology, or a related program preferred.
- Experience performing pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright related work.
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production systems such as conveyors and coolant systems to OEM specifications.
- Experience troubleshooting robotic control systems, such as Fanuc, ABB, etc.
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing cranes and hoists.
- Experience utilizing measurement tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, various type gauges, and calibers to set tolerances to OEM Specifications.

- Ability to analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Understanding of company policies and enforcement of safety regulations.
- Safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures.

Pay
$32 per hour.

Additional Information
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Qualified applicants must provide their own tools. Physical requirements include the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher, lift up to 50 lbs, climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift, bend/stoop, squat, kneel, stretch/reach, and walk throughout the plant. Special requirements include wearing steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
