REPORTS TO

Maintenance Technician / Operations Supervisor

JOB GOAL

To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, plan, and develop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for safety and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, boilers, and plumbing.
• Aid the grounds crew and building envelope when needed.
• Advise the Maintenance Technician / Operations Supervisor of repairs requiring the services of a contractor.
• Perform in-house repairs and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure a safe and efficient physical plant operation.
• Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventative maintenance and safety.
• Aptitude to identify failure sources of mechanical and physical plant systems.
• Document all services to systems.
• Able to work in poor weather conditions for service to critical systems.
• Able to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and other areas above ground level.
• Maintain comprehensive inventory of replacement parts.
• Facilitate completion of all mechanical repairs.
• Review and prioritize approved work order requests.
• Able to lift and move heavy items using safe and proper techniques.
• Twenty-four hour availability to respond to emergency conditions.
• Assists in supervising operations associated with the care of school district property.
• Performs tasks consistent with the responsibilities of the position, and/or as directed by the Maintenance Technician / Operations Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree, two-year technical school degree in electrical, plumbing or HVAC trade preferred or verification of advanced skills training.
• Five years of related experience.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in poor weather conditions for service to critical systems.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and other areas above ground level.
• Able to lift and move heavy items using safe and proper techniques.
• Twenty-four hour availability to respond to emergency conditions.

PAY

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually.

SCHEDULE

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
