Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of millwrights and mechanical trades personnel.
  • Execute weekly and daily maintenance plans as directed by the Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Lead daily line-out meetings, clearly communicating job assignments, priorities, and safety expectations.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with site policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support planning and scheduling activities by confirming labor, materials, tools, and services are available for assigned work.
  • Perform and promote precision and predictive maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Utilize CMMS to manage work orders, track maintenance activities, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist in root cause analysis for failures, recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to trades personnel as required.
  • Monitor job progress and provide feedback to ensure work is completed efficiently and to standard.
  • Aid in training, mentoring, and developing team members to enhance skills and performance.
  • Cookordination with operations and other departments to align maintenance activities with production needs.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors on specific tasks or equipment servicing as required.

Requirements

  • Certified trade qualification (Millwright or related mechanical trade preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong experience working with fixed plant equipment in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or mining environments (mining experience considered an asset).
  • Working knowledge of: Precision maintenance practices, Predictive maintenance techniques, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work orders.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively direct and support a team.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., CMMS, Microsoft Office).
  • Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
