Job Functions
- Safely complete daily tasks assigned to you by site leadership in a timely manner and to desired expectations and outcomes.
- Perform or assist in mechanical installation work under direct supervision of a more senior Installer, such as a Lead or Supervisor.
- Learn how to handle basic issues and troubleshoot a system.
- Learn or increase knowledge of basic installation and site safety requirements.
- Learn proper hardware usage.
- Affiliate in and learn installation methods.
- Learn troubleshooting methods and techniques.
- Apply learned skills to job duties.
- Assist more senior personnel in electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision.
- Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by a supervisor or more senior employee.
- Escalate higher-level concerns to a supervisor.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma required.
- A Technical Associate’s Degree or equivalent Certification preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in an industrial setting doing installation or maintenance.
- Experience in material handling, robotics, manufacturing, or packaging preferred.
- Experience and/or education in basic equipment installation, subcontractor management, site safety requirements, and customer interaction preferred.
- Must be literate with MS Office software suite (particularly MS Word and Excel).
- AutoCAD and MS Project experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable working on contemporary industrial control systems.
- Ability to travel up to 90% domestically or internationally to customer sites.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
About the Role
Toyota Automated Logistics is a system integrator and is one of the fastest growing material handling companies in the world. We are looking for a Mechanical Field Installer to travel to customer sites domestically to install multimillion dollar material handling systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of automation, and good oral and written communication skills. Mechanical Field Installers are the representatives for Toyota Automated Logistics on site during the installation and go-live phase of large projects. Mechanical Field Installers will collaborate with subcontractors and ensure that milestones are completed. They are hands-on and must be able to troubleshoot and fix issues that arise during the commissioning of our material handling systems. (This position requires up to 90% travel and will be at a site from 4 weeks to several months depending on the project.)
