Job Functions

• Safely complete daily tasks assigned to you by site leadership in a timely manner and to desired expectations and outcomes.
• Perform or assist in mechanical installation work under direct supervision of a more senior Installer, such as a Lead or Supervisor.
• Learn how to handle basic issues and troubleshoot a system.
• Learn or increase knowledge of basic installation and site safety requirements.
• Learn proper hardware usage.
• Aid in and learn installation methods.
• Learn troubleshooting methods and techniques.
• Apply learned skills to job duties.
• Aid more senior personnel in electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision.
• Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by a supervisor or more senior employee.
• Escalate higher-level concerns to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma required.
• A Technical Associate’s Degree or equivalent Certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an industrial setting doing installation or maintenance.
• Experience in material handling, robotics, manufacturing, or packaging preferred.
• Experience and/or education in basic equipment installation, subcontractor management, site safety requirements, and customer interaction preferred.
• Must be literate with MS Office software suite (particularly MS Word and Excel).
• AutoCAD and MS Project experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable working on contemporary industrial control systems.
• Ability to travel up to 90% domestically or internationally to customer sites.
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.

About the Role

Toyota Automated Logistics is a system integrator that designs material handling systems and develops software and controls to help customers process orders faster. We are seeking a Mechanical Field Installer to travel to customer sites domestically to install multimillion dollar material handling systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of automation, and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Field Installer represents Toyota Automated Logistics on-site during the installation and go-live phase of large projects. They collaborate with subcontractors and ensure milestones are met. The role involves troubleshooting and fixing issues during the commissioning of material handling systems. This position requires up to 90% travel and can last from 4 weeks to several months depending on the project.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma, at least 2 years of experience in an industrial setting, and experience in material handling, robotics, manufacturing, or packaging. A Technical Associate’s Degree or equivalent Certification is preferred. Must be literate with MS Office software suite and comfortable working on contemporary industrial control systems.

Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of automation, good oral and written communication skills, ability to troubleshoot and fix issues, hands-on approach, familiarity with basic equipment installation, subcontractor management, site safety requirements, and customer interaction.
