Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections—visual, dimensional, and physical—on components, assemblies, and raw materials throughout various production phases (including in-process, final, and first article) to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Operate and utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, height gauges, and profilometers to validate part conformity
- Conduct surface plate inspections and statistical lot sampling based on quality requirements
- Apply sharp visual inspection skills to identify workmanship issues and product defects, including damage such as burrs, scratches, loose fasteners, dings, and inadequate edge distances
- Identify and categorize nonconformities and confirm that corrective actions or rework have been properly executed
- Receive shipping documentation for accuracy, confirming part numbers, serial numbers, change notices, and destination data are correct
- Assure appropriate packaging, preservation, and delivery handling upon receiving
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
- Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
- Able to adapt to new technology and software
- Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
- Must be willing to undergo a background check
- Must be ITAR compliant

Pay
The pay range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 annually.
