Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing Designer
About the role
Ramboll is seeking a Mechanical and HVAC Designer to join our Solutions for Industry group in Binghamton, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC and plumbing design, with experience in Revit software.
Responsibilities
- Performing design work in various areas of the mechanical discipline, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing.
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details.
- Developing conceptual designs and cost estimates for early stages of the project life cycle.
- Creating design drawings utilizing Revit design software.
- Designing plumbing and building utility piping systems.
- Visiting job sites as required to support the design effort.
- Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in the Ramboll’s Project Execution Manual.
- Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to Ramboll’s Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Experience with HVAC and Industrial duct layout.
- Knowledge of SMACNA duct construction standards.
- Knowledge of the International Plumbing code and its requirements for plumbing design.
- Ability to foster a creative engineering environment.
- Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal.
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit design software is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the industry is preferred.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or greater.
- Experience with HVAC and Industrial duct layout.

Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
