Job Overview

The Mechanical General Foreman will oversee and coordinate mechanical construction activities for Primoris Energy Services projects in Sherman, Texas, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and manage mechanical crews, including pipefitters, welders, and equipment operators, ensuring efficient and safe work performance.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily mechanical work activities, including material handling, equipment utilization, and manpower assignments.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and compliant installation of mechanical systems.
  • Monitor progress against project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, conduct daily safety meetings, and perform regular site safety inspections.
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering, and other foremen to resolve technical issues and optimize workflow.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all mechanical installations meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage and track equipment and tool inventories, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization.
  • Train and mentor crew members, promoting skill development and safe work practices.
  • Prepare daily reports on progress, manpower, equipment, and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or trade school certification in a mechanical field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy industrial mechanical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Proven experience in piping, structural steel, equipment setting, and other mechanical installations within an industrial setting (e.g., power plants, refineries, chemical plants).
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and specifications.
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial safety regulations and practices (OSHA 30 certification preferred).
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and manage a diverse crew.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting project schedules and budgets.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
