Mechanical Engineering Technician II

Location: San Diego, CA • 12-month contract on W2 • 40 hours/week • $20–25/hr • First shift

About the role

The Engineering Technician will support engineers in the development, testing, and qualification of medical-device products and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes
• Use complex measurement equipment to collect and record data
• Execute designed test protocols and conduct testing
• Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data
• Help scope equipment for use and complete qualifications
• Assist engineers in development of test fixtures and test methods
• Operate and maintain test equipment
• Use typical hand tools to build and set-up equipment using drawings and other documentation
• Work with team to organize lab functions and test equipment
• Notify manager upon recognition of factors that may affect project
• Document and communicate test results effectively
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• A combination of equivalent education and experience, or a minimum of training beyond high school or secondary school in a technical discipline with more than 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience using laboratory test equipment
• Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of electro-mechanical devices
• Proficiency with personal computers and experience using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to follow directions and effectively execute written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work closely and collaborate in a team environment
• Good attention to detail
• US citizenship or Green Card required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree
• Experience using CAD software
