Mechanical Engineering Intern II, Summer 2027 (Onsite)
The Role
You will get hands-on experience bringing complex designs to life using CAD and a powerhouse fleet of 3D printers. You won't just be printing parts; you'll be collaborating directly with Principal Level Engineers and factory teams to move designs from the screen to the shop floor. From mastering multiple slicing software to managing lab logistics and championing a Lean, safe workspace, you will be fully immersed in the production lifecycle.
To grow your professional presence, you'll participate in our residential public speaking club and cap off your experience by presenting your portfolio of designs and what you have learned to the team.
LEAP Internship Program
In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program, entering College Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year in an engineering focused degree
- Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent team player who is willing to contribute and learn
