Mechanical Engineering/Installation Supervisor

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Installation Supervisor to join our Group Technology team!

About the role

This position requires travel of 60%, both internationally and nationally, and the ability to relocate for extended time periods to project sites. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Own the site installation, testing and commissioning of our production equipment and solutions.
• Working with mainly design, installation, commissioning, and running-in of major projects, you’ll ensure that all equipment within the factory is supplied where required.
• Take full responsibility for project execution with respect to installation, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure that the necessary expertise from other departments - environment, safety, MMR’s, are included in solutions.
• Communicate and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Ensure all documentation / reporting is done and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools.
• Ensure that all site work is done safely and in accordance with best practice site safety.
• Substantial travel inside and outside of North America is to be expected for project execution, supplier visits, coordination, etc.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years working in a similar position, with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications experience required
• 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar program
• Ability to travel both nationally and internationally 60% of the time
• Extended periods of presence at project sites are required, ie. temporary relocation
• Strong communication skills
• Preference given to candidates who have smith, mechanic or other type of craftsman expertise

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - 135,000.00. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions.
