Mechanical Engineering Co-Op (UCCS)

About the role

Samtec is seeking an Engineering Co-op at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The co-op will work in the Engineering Support Group (ESG) at Samtec’s Colorado Springs facility. The ESG group conducts failure analysis on various microelectronics products, performs destructive and non‑destructive characterization throughout the development cycle, and maintains measurement equipment and programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct failure analysis on microelectronics products
• Perform destructive and non‑destructive characterization of products throughout the development cycle
• Maintain measurement equipment and programs
• Develop skills in statistical data analysis, imaging systems (including scanning electron microscopy), microelectronics manufacturing processes, and failure root cause analysis

Requirements

• Self‑starter with exemplary written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to excel in a dynamic environment and solve problems efficiently, creatively, with fine attention to detail

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during regular business hours while maintaining a full‑time course load
• Available to commit to a minimum of 3 semesters
