Mechanical Engineering Co-op - Fall 2026/Winter 2027

Responsibilities
- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering.
- Become familiar with reading and interpreting building plans and mechanical diagrams.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Learn Autodesk Revit to model mechanical airside and hydronic components and systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop engineering drawings and specifications.
- Travel to job sites to survey and review existing buildings and construction progress through various stages of a project.
- Become familiar with various engineering standards and codes.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related Undergraduate program through Drexel University with an anticipated graduation date of March 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Demonstrated interest in Mechanical Engineering, or related, field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
- Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
Qualifications

Pay
Expected Pay: $23.90 - $31.11 per hour
Schedule
The anticipated dates of this co-op are September 22nd - March 26th as part of the Drexel Co-op Program. Start dates may be flexible.
