About the role
We are seeking Mechanical Engineering students passionate about building design to join our cooperative education program. Jordan & Skala Engineers collaborates with students from cooperative education programs across the country to provide them with industry experience and a competitive edge in the job market. Co-op students work alongside professionals in their degree fields and interdisciplinary teams, gaining rich consulting engineering experiences.
Responsibilities
- Become acclimated to the consulting engineering workplace, legal codes, design concepts, and improve skills in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Work alongside a mentor to learn through observation, instruction, and experience.
- Discuss skills and goals with your mentor to maximize your experience with Jordan & Skala.
- Network with other co-op students and industry leaders, attend lunch and learns, and participate in company events.
- Continue to become familiar with codes and calculations and work more independently on projects in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Implement knowledge from previous semesters to review shop drawing submittals, design layouts, and complete calculations.
- Ask questions and learn from professionals during each semester.
Requirements
Top-notch Mechanical Engineering students are required to have a strong academic background and a genuine interest in building design. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential, along with a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
