Mechanical Engineering Analyst

About the role

Kimley-Horn’s Portland, Oregon office is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Analyst with 2+ years of experience to join the MEP team.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze and produce deliverables for clients.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to meet clients’ requirements for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and client practices, procedures, and standards.
• Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project tasks, including:
  • Dry-mechanical, wet-mechanical, and plumbing/process systems
  • Developing floor plans, flow diagrams, schedules, details, and calculations (e.g., pump head calculations, pipe sizing and distribution, equipment selection)
• Support collaboration across multi-discipline Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing/process piping, Instrumentation & Controls, and Telecom/Technology teams, particularly on large-scale building systems engineering designs.
• Project types may vary and include Advanced Technology, Industrial, Micro-electronics, Mission Critical, Hospitals, Central Utility Plants, and more.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a similar mechanical engineering role.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering.
• EIT/EI certification or the ability to obtain certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve client problems.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, clear sense of urgency, and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with exposure to Pipeflo software.

Pay

Salary range: $90,000 – $135,000
