What You Can Expect
In this role, you will be a part of the Engineering Team within the Capital Projects structure and report to the Director of Engineering. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop conceptual designs for power, heating, and cooling systems
- Provide engineering support across procurement and construction
- Support construction execution by responding to RFIs, managing field change documentation, coordinating utility tie-ins/outages, assessing temporary equipment needs, and resolving technical issues
- Lead and participate in technical reviews, HAZID/HAZOPs, FATs, and development/review of procedures for major equipment and systems
- Deliver engineering support for permitting and regulatory requirements
- Ensure reliability, integrity, and operational excellence of existing district energy assets
- Lead existing asset decarbonization efforts
- Perform process and performance assessments of district heating and cooling systems
- Develop and analyze thermal, hydraulic, and energy models
- Evaluate existing customer energy infrastructure and optimize production configurations
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical or related engineering or discipline
- Minimum seven (7) years of working experience in design/engineering of Power plants, Chilled water, HVAC systems and/or district energy systems in North America
- Demonstrated knowledge of gas turbines, gas engine gensets, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), steam turbines, cooling towers, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, pipe distribution systems (steam, low temperature hot water, condensate, chilled water, etc.) and geo-exchange
- Experience in thermal engineering related to developing, constructing and operating District Energy, Utilities and Combined Heat And Power Systems
- Knowledge of applicable industrial codes and standards – ASME, NFPA, ASHRAE, EN, ISO and other design codes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, coaching and mentoring of staff
- Ability to handle varied assignments independently with a high degree of accuracy

- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% to 50% of the time
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; involves occasional fieldwork across active construction sites
