Overview

Siemens Grand Prairie Manufacturing facility is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for their Product Development team. The ideal candidate will lead new product development for electrical equipment (Panelboards and Switchboards), engineer innovative design concepts using CREO, and manage projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Leading new product development for electrical equipment (Panelboards and Switchboards)
  • Engineer innovative design concepts utilizing CREO
  • Create multiple design concepts & perform trade-off studies of those concepts to determine the optimal solutions
  • Navigate through the unknown and actively seek out new knowledge to apply to projects
  • Plan and manage projects including scope of work, schedules, costs and completion dates
  • Prepare prototypes for design feasibility evaluation and testing
  • Prepare and execute test plans
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion
  • Create Part drawings, Material BOMs, Engineering Change Notices as they relate to product development, improvements and/or cost reductions

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: BSME, 2-5 years’ experience in new Product Development Engineering, Minimum 3 years of Creo or similar 3d modelling software, Strong working knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), product design and concept testing, Hands-on prototyping experience, Strong creative and technical aptitude
  • PREFERRED Qualifications: Panelboard / Switchboard design experience, Minimum 2 years of Project Management experience, MSME
