Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer I - HVAC & Plumbing will be responsible for:

  • 3D HVAC and plumbing drawings, connecting systems, sizing and tagging
  • Ensuring schedules, key notes, and specs are up to date
  • BIM360 setup, coordination and management
  • Interface with equipment suppliers as needed
  • Performing HVAC and Plumbing load calculations
  • Sourcing cut sheets for all equipment in project including setup and augment sheets
  • Inserting HVAC loads, plumbing loads, gas loads/diagram, DSB reports, custom equipment cut sheets, into job sheets
  • Coordinating with clients and internal team with/on behalf of project engineer as needed
  • Taking site visits as needed to confirm existing equipment/sizing or plan conformance
  • Participating in occasional installations for different types of equipment--usually your own designs
  • Building positive relationships with customers and team
  • Maintaining a positive attitude and supporting GUNTHERS Core Values and Mission
  • Completing any additional tasks as assigned by Engineering Managers

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with HVAC and/or Plumbing installation and specifications (helpful)
  • Experience working with Revit MEP 2020-2024 (required)
  • Skills in BIM 360, Navisworks (required)
  • Flexible work hours
  • Organized, customer service oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and productive under deadlines
  • Self-starter, self-managed and productivity-focused
  • Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • 1+ years of HVAC and/or plumbing design experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is a bonus
