About the role
The MCF (Mission Critical Facilities) Engineer performs technical duties under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer. Understands and identifies project requirements and performs independent technical work within one's own discipline. Provides guidance to Designers on completion of duties.
Responsibilities
- Develops basic system designs within own discipline under supervision of a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer; this includes the ability to offer solutions to general technical problems.
- Delegates tasks to project designers as appropriate.
- Works in conjunction with the project team to prepare project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work outlined in the proposal.
- Collaborates with the project team to fully integrate work and client requests into design.
- Follows quality management process; reviews project deliverables prior to submission to QA/AC reviewer.
- Coordinates well with all disciplines to ensure integration of work and client requests into design.
- Attends project coordination meetings and performs other CA tasks.
- Participates in the engineering/Professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth (e.g. attend meetings / seminars / conferences).
- Affords assistance to the Project Engineer on project related tasks.
- Maintains high utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
Requirements
- Possesses knowledge of engineering practices within own discipline.
- Knows commonly used and accepted design and construction concepts, practices, procedures, codes, and standards.
- Can read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Proficient in applicable software (i.e. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Trace 700).
- Preferred proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g. Pipe-Flo) and CFD software (e.g. Fluent, 6Sigma).
- Exhibits strong communication skills to confidently interact and communicate scope and coordinate tasks with vendors and inter-discipline co-workers.
- Displays effective organization and time management skills with projects, reports and other duties; effectively manages multiple priorities and is punctual and dependable.
Qualifications
- Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 3 years related industry experience.
- Registered professional engineer (PE), Fundamentals of engineering (FE) / engineer in training (EIT) or other professional certification (PE) based on area of expertise preferred.
- Datacenter experience preferred but not required.
