About the role
Delta, founded in 1971, is a global leader in switching power supplies and thermal management products. You will be responsible for the mechanical design, validation, and optimization of Coolant Distribution Units (CDU) systems, ensuring they meet stringent requirements for reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of CDU assemblies, including housings, manifolds, piping, and structural components.
- Conduct tolerance analysis, material selection, and structural validation using CAD/CAE tools.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost, quality, and mass production.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design iterations based on validation results.
- Document engineering specifications, drawings, and BOMs to ensure traceability and quality.
- Drive continuous improvement by monitoring industry trends and integrating new technologies into CDU designs.
- Responsible for the structural design and development of liquid-cooled CDUs, including housing, piping layout, brackets, and connectors.
- Based on thermal fluid design requirements, complete structural configuration, component selection, and overall assembly scheme.
- Collaborate with thermal design, electrical control, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure product integration in terms of heat dissipation performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Perform material selection and pressure and temperature resistance analysis to ensure the product meets the safety and durability requirements of liquid cooling systems.
- Prepare engineering drawings, BOMs, and design specifications, and support mass production implementation in the supply chain and manufacturing sector.
- Participate in product testing and validation, including structural strength, durability, sealing, and environmental testing, and propose improvement plans.
Requirements
- Graduated with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiar with the design principles of liquid cooling systems, possessing basic knowledge of piping, connectors, pumps, and other components.
- Proficient in CAD/3D modeling software (such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
- Possess fundamental knowledge of structural mechanics, materials science, and thermodynamics.
- Experience in product development and mass production implementation is a plus.
- Strengthened cross-departmental communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing liquid-cooled CDUs or server cooling systems.
- Capable of conducting CFD/FEA analysis, performing flow field simulations and structural strength verification.
