Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-op Fall 2026 - Energy Solutions
About the role
CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking a Mechanical Co-op to join our dynamic team. As part of our Energy Solutions division, the ideal candidate will assist in all aspects of project development, generate energy models, produce detailed construction documents, and collaborate with designers and professional engineers.
Job Functions
- Assist in all aspects of the project development phase – including site visits, building audits, energy calculations
- Generate energy models and perform calculations to evaluate feasibility of energy savings measures identified
- Produce detailed construction documents using CAD
- Asemble organized sets of project drawings and documents
- Collect and analyze energy data, often involving field verification
- Work collaboratively with designers and professional engineers to develop all aspects of a project
Requirements
- Must be pursuing an undergrad degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- CAD experience is helpful but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Ability to travel locally for field work
- Minimum GPA 3.39
Qualifications
While not required, previous experience in engineering or related fields may be beneficial.
Skills
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
