Responsibilities
- Aid engineers in the design and development of new products and product enhancements.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
- Support product validation activities, including prototype assembly, testing, data collection, and documentation.
- Assist with engineering calculations, design evaluations, and technical investigations.
- Participate in engineering reviews and design discussions.
- Maintain bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change documentation, and product records.
- Analyze test results and prepare summary reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to support project objectives.
- Identify and implement design improvements related to performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
- Present project outcomes and recommendations to the engineering team.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing preferred.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Qualifications
- Coursework or project experience in machine design, product development, manufacturing, mechanics of materials, or fluid systems.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with engineering testing, laboratory work, prototype development, or data analysis.
- Hands-on experience through design teams, research projects, competitions, or personal engineering projects.
- Familiarity with engineering design processes and product development methodologies.
