Job Summary
Logos Technologies is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing technology development efforts at our Fairfax, VA office. This role will contribute to ISR sensor design, high-powered laser systems, and unmanned aerial vehicle integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and procedures
- Apply mechanical engineering principles and concepts
- Draw solutions from both formal training and experience
- Aid in the conceptual development and design of various systems from project proposal throughout kickoff
- Develop products from conceptual theories to deployable products
- Work with and manage a broad set of subcontractors for component and subassembly manufacture
- Afford assistance in the creation and management of project deliverables, including, but not limited to detailed project plans, project schedules, resource plans, risk assessment/issue tracking, and status reports for customer and Logos management
- Partner closely with Logos management and technical leads on technical direction and approach relating to project planning and execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 2-4 years of experience or a Master’s degree and 0-2 years of experience
- Understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, and other design and modeling tools
- Experience in design for manufacturing
- Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
- U.S. citizenship
Desired Experience
- Experience packaging optical and electrical assemblies
- Familiarity with surveillance/reconnaissance systems
- Machine shop and/or Additive Manufacturing experience
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with only general direction
- Ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions
- Ability to function equally effectively as a team member on a group project or unmanaged on an individual effort
