About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer will develop and support product designs, create and maintain engineering documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production and testing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs, documentation creation and modification, and production support.
• Contribute to cross-functional teams to develop solutions for production and field testing problems, including initial design, prototyping, and environment testing.
• Develop and review product designs; analyze development and design requirements.
• Design test stations, fixtures, cables, interconnects, and associated documentation.
• Perform tolerance analysis.
• Prepare and present project/technical information to peers, internal management, and customers.
• Plan and manage tasks effectively.
• Facilitate documentation and drawings of mechanical designs from inception through release.
• Specific tasks include enclosure structural design, thermal, vibration, and other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build, and production transition to the factory.

• Design and documentation of functional test equipment in support of avionics products.
• Translation of test requirements to functional testing and supporting equipment.
• How to plan and manage timelines for designs through the full project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Knowledge of NX Designer, Solidworks, or common fabrication practices (subtractive and additive).
• Demonstrated practical experience with mechanical engineering design.
• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to translate requirements into physical design.
• Demonstrated experience interacting with cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical engineers, drafters, electrical engineers, software engineers, and system engineers).
• Detail-oriented with the ability to excel in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Collins or avionics products.
• Mechanical test equipment design experience.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate design choices.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
