About the Role
The Ash Group is hiring a Mechanical Engineer II for our client, a high-tech aerospace and defense contractor delivering complex technology solutions for national security and space exploration. This is a 12-month contract position working in Plano, TX (Onsite).
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze mechanical requirements for structural modifications
- Design and model aircraft components using SolidWorks or Catia
- Develop detailed CAD drawings and specifications
- Conduct simulations and analysis (FEA, CFD, thermal) to validate designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems
- Prepare and review documentation for certification and compliance
- Assist in prototype testing and performance verification
- Update and improve product designs throughout lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in heavy structural modifications and aerospace design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or Catia CAD tools is a must
- Experience with engineering simulation tools such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T
- Experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of applying and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Experience in engineering simulation such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis
- Background in Aerospace and Defense
- Industry knowledge of mechanical design principles, parametric design, model-based definition, material selection, manufacturing, and production processes
Pay & Benefits
Compensation: $44/hr W2. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits. After six months of employment, enjoy a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting.
