Mechanical Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Working under limited supervision, the EVA Equipment Sustaining Engineer will perform planning and analysis;
• Support hardware fabrication, refurbishment and testing;
• Develop documentation;
• Provide real-time input during EVA operations in support of the International Space Station (ISS) program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field from an accredited engineering school and 5+ years direct experience;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Prior experience with NASA human space flight operations and/or design of space flight equipment;
• Prior experience performing sustaining engineering or maintenance;
• Prior experience designing or maintaining textile products;

Requirements

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position;
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
