What You'll Be Doing
- Mechanical Engineers are responsible for designing structures and implementing powered motion systems used on various types of machinery.
- Create 3D models of equipment, draft prints for manufacturing, and integrate hydraulic designs of normal to increasing complexity with moderate to light supervision.
- Work with production team members to implement designs, ensuring they are manufacturable, reliable, and aligned with customer requirements.
- Demonstrate a working, foundational understanding of hydraulic systems, assist Hydraulic Engineers with circuit development, component selection, and documentation.
- Design motion equipment using ball screw, planetary roller screw, and belt-driven actuators, work with vendors and electrical teams to size servo motors and other power transmission components, create accurate models, generate BOMs, and upload to ERP system.
- Understand GD&T (Dimensioning and Tolerancing), interpret tolerance stack-ups and effects, and minimize cost implications of tolerance and machining methods.
- Participate in design reviews, receive and incorporate feedback from peers, and make sure all criteria are met by comparing specifications and quotes to designs.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to solve problems and improve designs as required.
- Support the Service team with warranty and non-warranty troubleshooting as needed.
