Mechanical Engineer I

About the role

Sherman + Reilly, Inc. is a Chattanooga-based manufacturer of tools and equipment for the electric utility industry. This position is available within the Quanta Services family of companies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
• Solid grounding in engineering fundamentals: statics, mechanics of materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits and a commitment to accuracy
• A collaborative, team-first attitude and clear communication skills
• 0–2 years of engineering or internship experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or capital equipment environment
• Preferred: Exposure to utility, construction, or heavy equipment industries; experience with SolidWorks PDM or a similar product data management system; hands-on mechanical aptitude; comfortable in a production or fab shop environment
