About the Role

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is driven to deliver customer success worldwide through intelligent automated manufacturing and distribution technology solutions. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Lake Orion, MI, contributing to innovative automation projects.

This is a full-time, salaried position based onsite in Lake Orion, MI.

Responsibilities

• Acquire limited knowledge and develop basic engineering skills.
• Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
• Perform routine technical work which does not require previous experience.
• Develop an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
• Review the technical output of junior team members as directed.
• Influence peers through team interactions and contribute to the success of group projects.
• Utilize basic oral and written communication skills.
• Interact with staff, contractors, and the public.
• Assist with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience as a mechanical engineer.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Associate’s degree (2-year) from an accredited program (ABET/EAC) with relevant experience may be considered.
• Primarily academic knowledge of engineering discipline principles, practices, and procedures.
