About the Role
JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is driven to deliver customer success worldwide through intelligent automated manufacturing and distribution technology solutions. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Lake Orion, MI, contributing to innovative automation projects.
This is a full-time, salaried position based onsite in Lake Orion, MI.
Responsibilities
- Acquire limited knowledge and develop basic engineering skills.
- Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Perform routine technical work which does not require previous experience.
- Develop an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Review the technical output of junior team members as directed.
- Influence peers through team interactions and contribute to the success of group projects.
- Utilize basic oral and written communication skills.
- Interact with staff, contractors, and the public.
- Assist with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience as a mechanical engineer.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Associate’s degree (2-year) from an accredited program (ABET/EAC) with relevant experience may be considered.
- Primarily academic knowledge of engineering discipline principles, practices, and procedures.
