About the role
A Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems designs, develops, and maintains HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform heating/cooling load calculations.
- Design HVAC systems, including hydronic and air-side systems.
- Create control diagrams and prepare sequences of operations.
- Develop heat load analysis models and flow models.
- Oversee all phases of HVAC projects from concept to implementation.
- Prepare and review technical design criteria and specifications.
- Conduct tests on HVAC systems.
- Analyze and test prototypes and revisions of HVAC systems.
- Monitor and evaluate system performance using specialized software.
- Prepare detailed documentation and specifications for HVAC systems.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and standards such as the International Building Code.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements or repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to clients.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for equipment and materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in designing HVAC systems.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software and HVAC design tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
