Mechanical Engineer (Higher Education)

About the Role

This role offers the opportunity to lead and support mechanical engineering design for higher education facilities, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature control systems. You will contribute to projects of varying size and complexity, perform energy and economic analyses, and collaborate closely with project teams and clients. The position is fully remote, with flexible work arrangements available, and involves working on a diverse portfolio that includes healthcare, higher education, K-12, and athletics projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support mechanical engineering design for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature control systems.
• Perform energy and economic analyses for building systems.
• Collaborate with project teams and clients on projects of varying size and complexity.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–15 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with higher education or data center projects (open to other commercial projects).
• Proficiency in mechanical engineering design for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature control systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with Revit for mechanical design and documentation.
• Experience with AutoCAD for mechanical design and drafting.
• Broad mechanical design experience across healthcare, higher education, K-12, and athletics projects.
• LEED accreditation is a plus.
• Building Information Modeling (BIM) experience is a plus.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.31/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
