Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day shop and field operations, including rotating equipment inspections, teardowns, repair evaluations, and hands-on overhauls (with field service assignments up to 40% as required).
- Collaborate with the machine shop, quotation team, and internal stakeholders on mechanical findings to define accurate repair scopes.
- Perform or verify precision measurements using micrometers and calipers, document findings clearly, and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Create and update CAD drawings (SolidWorks or Autodesk) to document design or repair changes for customer review.
- Act as the primary mechanical point of contact for customers during on-site inspections and repair evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- PREFERRED BACKGROUND (3+ years total across one or more areas):
- Rotating equipment repair or overhaul
- Rotating equipment manufacturing
- Rotating equipment package design and assembly
- Field service for mechanical equipment
- Vibration analysis or diagnostics
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient with CAD software (SolidWorks or Autodesk)
- Working knowledge of:
- Rolling element bearings and sleeve/babbitt bearings.
- Mechanical seals and oil seals.
- Shaft alignment.
- Vibration spectrums and interpretation.
- Comfortable using precision measuring tools (micrometers and calipers)
- Familiarity with seal and bearing clearances to shafts is preferred (on-the-job training provided).
