Mechanical Engineer (Electromechanical Services)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day shop and field operations, including rotating equipment inspections, teardowns, repair evaluations, and hands-on overhauls (with field service assignments up to 40% as required).
  • Collaborate with the machine shop, quotation team, and internal stakeholders on mechanical findings to define accurate repair scopes.
  • Perform or verify precision measurements using micrometers and calipers, document findings clearly, and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Create and update CAD drawings (SolidWorks or Autodesk) to document design or repair changes for customer review.
  • Act as the primary mechanical point of contact for customers during on-site inspections and repair evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • PREFERRED BACKGROUND (3+ years total across one or more areas):
    • Rotating equipment repair or overhaul
    • Rotating equipment manufacturing
    • Rotating equipment package design and assembly
    • Field service for mechanical equipment
    • Vibration analysis or diagnostics

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient with CAD software (SolidWorks or Autodesk)
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Rolling element bearings and sleeve/babbitt bearings.
    • Mechanical seals and oil seals.
    • Shaft alignment.
    • Vibration spectrums and interpretation.
  • Comfortable using precision measuring tools (micrometers and calipers)
  • Familiarity with seal and bearing clearances to shafts is preferred (on-the-job training provided).
