About the role
Clarke Fire is a leading global manufacturer of diesel fire pump engines, with business centers in the USA and Scotland and over 300 authorized service locations worldwide. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Designer with diesel engine application experience to maintain and develop new engine products, systems, components, and accessories.
Responsibilities
- Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs producible with existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
- Determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities, considering costs, space, time limitations, and company planning.
- Provide technical information on manufacturing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages or limitations affecting long-range engineering planning.
- Confer with development personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs.
- Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
- Define testing procedures, analyze test data, and prepare reports to verify design meets functional and performance specifications.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- Technical drawing experience (e.g., Autodesk).
- Diesel or automotive experience preferred.
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
- Must currently reside in the Cincinnati region.
