Mechanical Engineer Co-op - Spring 2027

We are a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP); building automation; and industrial piping contractor. Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services.

About the role

DeBra-Kuempel is seeking to fill a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op position in our Cincinnati, Ohio location for the Spring 2027 semester. The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op position offers a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the Mechanical Engineering field. The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op will work with Mechanical Engineers to provide knowledge and consultation developing HVAC system solutions for the customers’ problems, including financial and performance-based solutions. The projects will be wide-ranged, including but not limited to: HVAC piping, Industrial piping, Plumbing, Sheetmetal, and Equipment replacements.

Responsibilities

• Attend company meetings to discuss work in progress, corporate issues, budget plans, business plans, and marketing plans on agreed-upon schedules.
• Assist Mechanical Engineers with engineering retrofit, repair, and replacement mechanical projects.
• Assist Mechanical Engineers to determine client needs and develop an engineered solution.
• Follow up with project managers on the status of engineered work.
• Assist Service Technicians with job site problems.
• Assist Mechanical Engineers by relaying prospective solutions to clients.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word & other Microsoft Office products.
