Duties
- Lead the development of ADAS Level 4 Autonomous Vehicle Platform (AVP) systems through the entire product development process from Project Definition to Product Launch.
- Develop mechanical system concepts to meet vehicle platform requirements and utilize analytical tools to verify a robust design.
- Utilize DFMEA and DVP tools to mitigate system design risk throughout the concept, design, and validation phases of the program.
- Create and maintain up-to-date project schedules and develop mitigation plans as needed to meet program milestones.
- Effectively manage relationships with the autonomous partner and suppliers to ensure information flows smoothly and issues are proactively addressed.
- Cook regularly during the development process with other PACCAR engineering teams including Embedded software engineering, PACCAR Innovation Center (PIC), and PACCAR Technical Center (PTC).
- Cook regularly during the development process with cross-functional groups including Product Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and PACCAR Parts.
- Act in a professional manner in all contacts with external and internal customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Thorough knowledge and experience with CREO / CREO View / Windchill (or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and/or experience in heavy truck components and systems
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
- Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks, ability to learn on the fly, and adapt to change
- Demonstrate professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities
- Proactive approach to reconciling issues and reaching consensus
- Strong overall knowledge of PACCAR vehicles
- Experience with a Phase Gate development process
- Knowledge in the use of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
