Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager of Balance Of Plant Mechanical Engineering and Procurement Engineering. This position is hybrid requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Rock Hill, SC. No relocation will be provided for this position.

Responsibilities

• Supports design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of non-nuclear and large-scale nuclear projects.
• Develops mechanical fluid system piping layout and resolves routing interferences as well as reducing potential physical layout conflicts between commodities.
• Coordinates technical issues between functional areas for plant design and parameters.
• Interfaces with engineers in different departments and global work locations to support design, fabrication, and construction organizations, responding to requests for information (RFIs), identifying design changes, and addressing deviations.
• Assesses physical arrangements of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and supports using multi-dimensional E3D design software.
• Authors, reviews, and verifies engineering designs and conducts in-depth reviews of 3D models and plant designs, collaborating with WNEXUS.
• Prepares technical reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and contract requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• 0 - 3 years' experience; 2025-2026 Mechanical Engineers Graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Pay

Annually Paid: The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
