Mechanical Engineer
Location: Grand Prairie, TX • 6-month contract with potential extension • US Citizenship required (ability to obtain security clearance)
About the role
This Mechanical Engineer position combines HVAC design, system commissioning, and Building Management System (BMS) controls. You will deliver comprehensive engineering packages—from calculating initial cooling/heating loads to programming sequences of operation and validating final system performance.
Responsibilities include planning, designing, and overseeing the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. You will gather and review data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion dates, and construction feasibility. The role involves coordinating with architecture/engineering firms to develop design criteria and prepare layout and detail drawings, as well as preparing bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. You will also review and estimate design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related expenses, and inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineer role focused on HVAC design
- 5+ years of experience with Building Management System (BMS)
- Experience delivering comprehensive engineering packages from load calculations to system validation

$65.00/hr – $83.00/hr on W2
