Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design and develop deployment systems and associated mechanisms through test and delivery
- Translate system level requirements into designs
- Author drawings, assembly documentation, and test plans
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to define project objectives, timelines, and deliverables
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize system performance and reliability
- Work in a team environment involving experts in diverse disciplines (e.g. aero-thermal and thermo-structural analyses, RF and IR signature effects of materials and configurations, etc.)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 or more years of experience designing mechanisms and structures encountering challenging vibration, shock, and temperature environments
- Experience with the various elements of mechanical design and drafting, including selection of structural materials, adhesive and fastener selection; AMSE y14.5 and other relevant ASME drafting standards; familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100/MIL Specifications as they apply to aerospace structures
- Experience using parametric CAD software to create models of assemblies, parts and drawings.
- Experience with SolidWorks and / or Creo skills are preferred, with the ability to quickly achieve proficiency in both CAD packages
