About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and manufacturing processes for Time Manufacturing's production operations. This role supports the company's goals of innovation, efficiency, and quality through engineering design, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and implement mechanical systems and components for new and existing product lines.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, production, and supply chain to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
  • Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of new products or product improvements.
  • Assist in the selection of materials, tools, and equipment for manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce waste and cycle time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0–5 years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering (preferably in heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing).
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and project management abilities.
  • Primarily office and manufacturing floor environment.
  • Strong mechanical design experience in structural components, weldments, brackets, subframes, and vehicle integration.
  • Experience creating 3D assemblies and detailed fabrication drawings.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems, hose routing, mounting structures, and load-bearing design.
  • Experience generating mechanical BOMs and supporting manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Time Manufacturing or similar equipment (aerial lifts, cranes, or utility trucks).
  • Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, and manufacturing process control.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification.
