Role Overview A Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining equipment supporting fulfillment operations. The role involves creating mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD, developing detailed drawings and specifications, evaluating market equipment, sourcing components, and validating designs through testing and validation. The engineer acts as a technical escalation resource for complex issues, providing remote or on-site support, and managing vendor relationships. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and training staff are key duties. Travel up to 30% is required for installations and commissioning. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years relevant experience, or an associate’s degree with 5+ years, or a high school diploma with 7+ years of experience.Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, with a strong design-to-build portfolio.Experience in systems integration, technical documentation, vendor coordination, and hands-on work on production floors.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.Willingness to travel and respond to critical equipment issues remotely or on-site. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for custom and commercial equipment.Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.Research and evaluate equipment options, perform calculations, and coordinate procurement.Test and validate equipment for performance, quality, and robustness.Manage vendor relationships, lead qualification activities, and oversee supply chain processes.Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.Act as a deep technical escalation resource, providing support for complex mechanical issues.Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing education and industry engagement.
